Ecofan - Sub Floor Ventilation

Ecofan - Sub Floor Ventilation

Ecofan Subfloor VentilationHomes with wooden floors supported by piers can suffer from poor sub-floor air circulation. Stale or damp sub-floor air can impact on mould and fungi growth, termite action and even household allergies and respiratory problems. It can also give rise to stale and musty odours which permeate into living areas.

To improve sub-floor air quality and reduce humidity levels beneath the floor, Edmonds has developed the Ecofan.

Ecofan consists of an electronic brushless D.C. motor and 23cm diameter, five blade fan installed within an aluminium powdercoated frame.

Ecofan extracts 4,000 litres per minute of stale or damp sub-floor air. This air is replaced by clean, fresh external air sucked through wall grilles placed opposite Ecofan.

Ecofan Sub Floor VentilationEcofan is fully controlled through the power source. Even if allowed to run continuously, Ecofan, which draws only 6.5W, will cost less than $A6 per annum in energy charges.

Installation

Ecofan is installed in the sub-floor brickwork by removal of one full brick and part removal of adjacent bricks above and below. No electrician is required. A 12v adaptor is provided for connection to a standard power point.
